OUR DESIGN ADVISERS
The South West Design Programme is a high-calibre service which offers key decision makers in business the positive benefits that good design can have on sales, profits, market share and competitiveness.
Pivotal to its success is the dedicated team of specialist Design Advisers who work across the region and across design disciplines. An important aspect of the Design Adviser’s role is in recommending the level of design support a business needs to be successful, and in helping to source appropriate design suppliers. Each Design Adviser has worked with small and large businesses, offering you years of experience and real, hands-on support
Lynne Elvins, Regional Design Adviser
Lynne Elvins has joined the team from the Business Programme at Forum for the Future, which is the UK's leading charity working on sustainable development (balancing economic viability with environmental and social responsibility.) As a senior adviser on sustainable innovation, Lynne focused on the design and delivery of products and services, working with a number of large companies and leading a project to develop zero emissions paint.
She has also developed a Streamlined Life Cycle Assessment tool for products. The tool won an ICI Award for Product Stewardship and is being used successfully with suppliers.
Prior to this, Lynne was a freelance adviser on communications and sustainable design, creating a "Sustainability Issue Mapping" tool, now featured in two design books and used successfully with design students. Lynne also has expertise in design management and e-communications.
